The role of the Main Street Program is to identify, assess, and address improvements and opportunities in the Central Business district (CBD). In a four-pronged approach, the Main Street Manager, along with the board and committees, focus on economic vitality, design, promotion, and organization. Economic vitality looks to proactively identify and fill gaps in the CBD. Design prioritizes the infrastructure, public spaces, streetscapes, and other physical elements to emphasize accessibility while also maintaining the culture and history of the Hillsboro community. Promotion establishes a marketing plan to increase visibility of the CBD and increase foot traffic both daily and for larger events. Organization provides the structure and resources to actively work toward implementing the initiatives of the
Main Street Program.
The Main Street Program is housed at the Hillsboro Administration Building, 214 East Elm Street.
